Kajang 101
Kajang, Selangor, Malaysia. A not-so-small town right in the middle of everywhere! Its 25 mins from PJ, 30 mins to from KL, 45 mins from Seremban. And its almost right in the middle if you drive from Penang to Singapore. So it must be one famous town huh? You betcha! Kajang is famous for a few things, most famously? Kajang Satay! Satay is what the shish kebabs are to the Turkish, what the yakitoris are to the Japanese, the souvlakis are to the Greeks, brochette to the French and well, what meat skewers are in plain ol' English! =) Ask anyone where Kajang is and they probably can't tell you where exactly but they will sure to mention Satay! But there is so much more to love about this bustling town than satay! In our spanking new series of posts featuring Kajang, we will share about growing up in a small town, the day-to-day stuff. We will try to feature those little nooks and crannies, the streetlife and lifestyle of all things Kajang! Labels: 101, 2008, Kajang
Love-lines...
I am not shy to admit that I love quotes. I use them as if they are second nature. If there is a course on quotes. I would do it, in a hearbeat. Quotes101: Quotes as a Second Language.Well so for this Valentine's Day, what better way to get the mood going than with some Love-lines: (P.S. These love-related quotes are of authors featured in Love-stories in CzipKid's V-day feature: )

But love, to some extent, protects you from age. ~Anais Nin, Great Loves:Eros Unbound~

All about LOVE!

It has been a wonderful month off from the store, celebrating Christmas, the New Year then now, Chinese New Year. From the turkeys to the presents. To the lovely homemade repertoire from aunts and grandmas alike, to the mouthwatering baked goods (personal favourite: Kuih Karpet aka Love Letters) that seems to be a regular fixture in every household, it has truly been a wonderful occasion for all! Not forgetting the many "Ang Pows" (red packets) collected and winnings from the gambling table for the lucky few, this Chinese New Year certainly makes for a great transition to one of my all time favourites: Valentine's Day!

Traditions.
Dear friends of CzipLee,
It's February already! January seems to have just flown by. Just like you, we've been recuperating and restructuring after a superbly busy Year End. Getting all the kids stocked up and ready for school, is an event as big as Christmas and New Year for us.
We love to see all the little ones light up, with their new matching pens and pencils and school books. We've even spotted some 'not so little ones', stock up some matching pens for themselves. All that makes February our favourite month. We call it our New Year. So Happy New Year to us, heh? =)
New Year, New Beginnings and Enduring Traditions.
This year promises to be a bit special, CzipLee turns 40 this year! With Chinese New Year a couple of days away, we thought we start off 2008 with some Traditions.
Ellen Goodman, the American journalist and Pulitzer Prize-winning syndicated columnist was quoted:
"Traditions are the guideposts driven deep in our subconcious minds. The most powerful ones are those we can't even describe aren't even aware of." Traditions...our guideposts. That got us thinking of somethings old...hmmm:

And some CzipLee traditions:1. Familairity with customers. Building long-lasting relationships with YOU!2. Meeting your needs. We are here to do so, tell us what you want or need and we will source to the ends of the earth (pun intended!) to bring in what you want and what/when we can.3. Giving you that 'CzipLee Experience'. Addressing special requests and helping you get what you want even if it has nothing to do with us!4 Family-styled service. Making you feel right at home when you come by our stores. 5. Best prices. Whenever we can. =)At times, we tend to forget our traditions and what they mean to us. We will be first to admit our shortcomings. We may not have always lived up to our traditions and we are sorry for that. We may have also created new ways/standards/views and though these are good but we know traditions should never be disregarded!Churchill once said: "A love of tradition has never weakened a nation, indeed it has strengthened nations in their hour of peril, but the new view must come, the world must roll forward!"New TraditionsOur goal this year is to strive to achieve that perfect balance between the old and the new. To spur on with foundations that has been built on traditions and of course to make new traditions. 1.Closing on Sundays during most part of the year. We are dedicating Sundays to God and family. 2.You are at this very moment part of one of our newest traditions, which is greeting you with a letter each month. Feel free to use the comments below to greet one another, and spread the festive cheer. We have some pretty cool ideas that we will be trying this year both online and in-store(s) so keep checking back here for updates. Your comments on how things work has been useful for us. Most have been through our humble enquiry form, we would like to invite you to comment on our blog too. Do it now? =)Happy New Year Friends!Your friends @
