KOKUYO began over a hundred years ago as a producer of book covers for wacho, shopkeeper’s books widely used in Japan before the Second World War. The Company later expanded its operations to encompass products such as stationery and furniture, and services such as store and office design and installation, logistics and personnel services. All of these products and services play a vital role in fulfilling the needs of homes, schools, and offices.
Today, Kokuyo Co., Ltd. provides general office supplies and services all over the world. It has three segments: Stationery, Furniture, and Store Fixtures. The Stationery segment provides notes, albums, binders, forms, and pencils. The Furniture segment provides desks, tables, chairs, cabinets, and lockers. The Store Fixtures segment offers shop display shelves, shop counters, glass showcases, shopping carts, and wagons.
Kokuyo Co., Ltd. was founded in 1905 as Kuroda Hiyoshi-Ten and changed its name to Kuroda Kokkodo in 1914. Further, the company changed its name to Kuroda Kokkodo Unlimited Partnership in 1938; to Kuroda Kokkodo Co., Ltd. in 1949; and to Kokuyo Co., Ltd. in 1961. Kokuyo Co. is headquartered in Osaka, Japan.
Since its inception, KOKUYO has worked hard to turn those germinating seeds of dissatisfaction into satisfaction, one issue at a time. Most of their products and services were developed in just this way.
